Donald Hess

Donald G. Hess, 69, of Marion, died April 9, 2009, at HCA Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was a carpenter and had retired from the City of Marion as park superintendent.

Born Sept. 7, 1939, in Denbo, Pa., he was the son of William and Ruth (Rathbone) Hess.

On March 6, 1960, he married Karon Highsmith. She survives of the home.

His parents, a brother, William Hess Jr., and a son, Donnie, preceded him in death.

Other survivors include two sons, Bryan Hess and Jerry Hess, both of Marion; two daughters, Angie Vinduska of Marion and Lisa Mayfield of Hillsboro; a sister, Patsy Sarkett of Daisytown, Pa.; and nine grandchildren.

Services were Monday afternoon at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Marion.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery

A memorial fund has been established with the church.
