Donald Wright

Donald R. “Don” Wright, 83, of Hutchinson, died Dec. 30 at the University of New Mexico Hospital, Albuquerque, N.M.

Born June 30, 1927, in Walton, to Harvey J. and Elsie (Worthington) Wright, he grew up in Walton and Marion.

He married Jennieta “Jinx” Hoyt on Aug. 21, 1949, in Lyons.

He lived in Sterling from 1950 to 1955 and in Hutchinson since 1955. He and his wife lived part-time in Taos, N.M.

He attended Marion High School and Emporia State University. He retired from Cessna Corporation as a manufacturing engineer.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

His parents and a brother, Harold, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Jennieta; two daughters, Lisa Wright of Taos and Connie Schlelein of Avon, Colo.; two brothers, Bill of Newton and John of Hesston; and two sisters, Alice Wagner of Newton and Virginia Pientka of Hesston.

Services were Sunday at Carey Park Community Building in Hutchinson.

A private family graveside service will be in Walton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Hutchinson Public Library and Hutchinson Art Center in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main St, Hutchinson KS 67501.
