Donations, pledges near goal

It’s not too late to make a donation or pledge toward the St. Luke Hospital renovation project in Marion.

A $6.2 million bond has been obtained for the project with additional money to be used for furnishings.

“Our goal is raise $1.2 million,” Foundation Fundraising Chairman Judy Reno said.

To date, more than $700,000 has been raised or pledged, $108,000 of which has been pledged by St. Luke Hospital and Living Center and Marion County Home Health employees and $125,000 pledged by St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary.

“The hospital is one of the largest employers in the community,” Reno said.

Contributions may be made by a monetary donation, an annual pledge, in memory of a loved one, or through an estate.

“Small donations are just as important as large ones,” she said. For more information, contact the St. Luke Hospital Foundation office at (620) 382-3115.

Construction and renovation is scheduled to begin in July.
