Earl Priddy

Earl K. Priddy, 77, of Strong City, died May 26, 2009, at Presbyterian Manor, Emporia.

Born July 5, 1931, in Salina, he was the son of Wilbur Hall and Iva Maude (Fry) Priddy.

He married Wanda Christensen on June 7, 1949, in Denver, Colo.

He served in the National Guard and the Army Reserves. In 1948, he worked for Southwestern Bell. He married Wanda Christensen on June 7, 1949, in Denver, Colo. He later transferred to Lincolnville where he was district manager with KPL for 11 years.

He was a line superintendent in Kiowa.

His parents, brothers, Ralph and Elmer, sister Ollie Mae Anderson, and son Dale preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Linda Priddy-Canaan of Overland Park and Ellen Lynch of Seadrift, Tex.; a brother, Harold of Denver; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was Saturday afternoon at Prairie Mound Cemetery, rural Ellsworth County. The Rev. Melody Kimbrel officiated.

Memorials have been established with Hand in Hand Hospice and American Cancer Society. Contributions may be sent in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, Box 220, Cottonwood Falls KS 66845.
