Eileen Keller

Eileen Keller, 91, Pittsburg, formerly of Hillsboro, died Jan. 20 at Via Christi Village.

Services were Monday at First United Methodist Church, Pittsburg. Burial followed in Mount Olive Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 19, 1925, to August Richard and Esther (Hiebert) Ebel in Hillsboro.

She graduated from Tabor College in 1945, then from McPherson College and graduate school at the University of Kansas. She completed medical technology studies at St. Francis, Wichita.

On May 29, 1949, she married Leland E. Keller in Wichita. They moved to Pittsburg in 1957. He preceded her in death in 2001. She also was preceded in death by sister, Lucille Hughes.

She was a member of numerous medical and community organizations and initiatives. She also was an antique dealer and collected glassware and pottery. She retired in 1985.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Edward Keller of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and David Richard Keller of Pittsburg; daughter, Margaret Ann Lawellin of Gamaliel, Arkansas; brother, Dr. John Edward Ebel of Carlsbad, California; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Leland Keller Pittsburg State University Endowment Fund or Pittsburg First United Methodist Church.
