Ella Brose 

Ella Marie Brose, 82, homemaker and resident of Marion, passed away Dec. 26, 2009, at the Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita.

 Ella Marie Reinke was born Oct. 31, 1927, in Marion, the daughter of Homer and Elsie (Stallwitz) Reinke.  She was a 1945 graduate of Marion High School and attended Kansas State University. 

She was united in marriage to John Leo Brose on Feb. 20, 1950, in Peabody. They settled in Marion for the rest of their married lives, becoming owners of the Brose Liquor Store. 

Ella is survived by her loving husband, John, who now resides at Salem Home, Hillsboro. She is also survived by her daughters, Laura and husband Roger Williams of rural Florence and Lisa and husband Bart Brittain of Wichita; and her granddaughters, Stacia Williams, Sarah Williams, and Brooke Brittain. In addition, she is survived by her only brother, Robert Reinke, and his wife, Ilene, of Wichita and their children and families.

 Ella was a member of Marion Presbyterian Church, P.E.O. Chapter DB in Marion, and the St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary. She will be remembered as a talented pianist, avid antique collector, gardener, and gourmet cook who was always up for a game of bridge. Her family and friends will always admire her determination to face life head on, even with physical limitations.

 A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Marion Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jeremiah Lange officiating.

A private family inurnment will be in Marion Cemetery. 

Memorials have established with Marion Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O. Chapter DB Scholarship Fund in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
