Elvie Loewen

Elvie Johnny Loewen, 88, of Wichita, died May 12.

Born July 30, 1921, in rural Hillsboro, to John L. and Elizabeth (Klein) Loewen, he owned radio and television repair shops in Hillsboro and Newton, and later owned a greenhouse in Hillsboro.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby, of Wichita; four sons, Donald of Batavia, Ill., Richard of Osoee, Fla., and Jim and Mark of Wichita; a brother, Wesley of Chandler, Ariz.; three sisters, Evelyn Friesen of Inman, Malinda Frank of Cape Coral, Fla., and Elvina Ediger of Hillsboro; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Graveside services were at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ebenfeld Cemetery in Hillsboro. A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita.

A memorial fund has been established with First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita.
