MARION SENIOR CENTER:   Elvis is coming

Senior Center correspondent

Ladies are encouraged to don poodle skirts and saddle oxford shoes, as “Elvis” will grace Marion Senior Center with a performance at 7 p.m. Friday.

Elvis impersonator Marc Baker will perform in costume with his sound system and light show. Donations are accepted.

Santa and Mrs. Claus paid patrons a surprise visit Dec. 24. Patrons also sang Christmas carols, led by Sue Clough and Shirley Bowers.

Members of the newsletter crew Evelyn Jewett, Clough, Irmagene Goodman, Al and Gloria Ash, Marilyn Geis, Mary Hett, and Fred Puttroff met Dec. 22 to discuss page assembly.

Goodies were also taken to Marion Tool and Die in thanks for materials provided with which the center built its own grill.

The Marion County Senior Citizens board meeting took place at the senior center Dec. 19.

Marion resident Kay Navrat gave the center a helpful book by Bob Dorsett about the many faces of grief.
