According to fire and ambulance transmissions, monitored by the newspaper:

dec. 28

12:09 a.m. — Peabody ambulance responded to the 300 block of N. Olive St. for a pregnant 17-year-old girl complaining of severe back pain. Peabody ambulance found a second responder eight minutes after initial page; Hillsboro ambulance was paged during that time and subsequently told to disregard. The girl was not transported.

1:46 a.m. — Marion ambulance transported a woman with elevated blood pressure from Hilltop Manor to St. Luke Hospital.

10:30 a.m. — Tampa fire told residents in 300 block of County Rd. they couldn’t execute a controlled burn because an ordinance prohibits doing so within city limits.

4:03 p.m. — LifeTeam transported a 67-year-old male from a field in the 1200 block of Kanza Rd. in Peabody to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. The man complained of back pain and difficulty breathing after falling from an all-terrain vehicle. His injuries were classified as possibly life-threatening. Peabody ambulance and sheriff’s officers initially responded before LifeTeam was called for transport.

9:16 a.m. — Marion ambulance transported a man having a stroke from the 1100 block of E. Denver St. to St. Luke Hospital.

dec. 30

1:19 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a 67-year-old woman who dislocated her knee replacement from Hilltop Manor to St. Luke Hospital. Marion fire was paged for lifting assistance.

8:24 p.m. — Marion ambulance assisted an 81-year-old woman who was stuck in a sitting position and could not get up in the 1700 block of Upland St. at Marion County Lake. The woman was not transported.

dec. 31

3:41 p.m. — Hillsboro fire and Hillsboro ambulance responded to a call of smoke coming from the ceiling in the dining room area at Wendy’s. The reported cause of the smoke was the restaurant’s HVAC system.

5:59 p.m. — Peabody fire and ambulance answered a “possible code black” in the 500 block of N. Olive St. Code black is typically a request to attend to a dead body.

6:27 p.m. — With Peabody ambulance on another call, Marion ambulance transported an elderly woman whose head was bleeding after she fell from a step from the 900 block of Remington Rd. to Newton Medical Center.

Thursday

12:45 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a 37-year-old female complaining of disorientation, body aches, confusion, and vomiting to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

friday

3:12 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 400 block of N. 4th St. for an elderly man in diabetic shock. The man was not transported.

5:36 a.m. — Marion ambulance responded to St. Luke Hospital for a patient transfer request. The newspaper’s system did not record additional transmissions indicating the destination of the ambulance.

10:27 a.m. — Marion ambulance transported an elderly woman who fell from the 1400 block of E. Lawrence St. to St. Luke Hospital.

1:29 p.m. — Peabody firefighters responded to a residential carbon monoxide alarm on Old Mill Rd. between 10th and 20th Rds.

saturday

4:56 p.m. — Lincolnville firefighters responded to the 200 block of Adams St. to investigate a report of an ammonia or natural gas scent.

6:53 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance provided advanced life support transport of a pediatric patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Via Christi St. Francis.

11:36 p.m. — When a neighbor reported noticing an emergency light in a residence but was unable to enter, Florence ambulance and firefighters responded to Carriage Manor Apartments. No specific details about the individual’s condition were transmitted during transport to St. Luke Hospital.

2:12 a.m. — Peabody ambulance transported a woman in her 50s who was dizzy and disoriented after a fall from the 200 block of N. Pine St. to St. Luke Hospital.

10:22 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance transported a patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital to Dole VA Medical Center.

4:46 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a patient from St. Luke Medical Clinic to Wesley Medical Center.
