march 17

3:27 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a rekindled field fire at 150th and Indigo Rds.

7:59 a.m. — Marion firefighters responded to a smoking truck tire in a ditch at US-56 and Remington Rd.

8:11 a.m. — A woman in her 30s with leg and back pain because of a fall was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from the 600 block of E. Marion St. in Goessel to Newton Medical Center. Goessel first responders assisted with the call.

5:27 p.m. — Peabody first responders and Marion ambulance responded to 110th Rd. between Limestone and Mustang Rds. for a man who fell out of a wheelchair. The ambulance was canceled when Peabody firefighters arrived to provide lifting assistance.

8:55 p.m. — An elderly man with a high fever was transported by Florence ambulance from Johnson’s General Store to St. Luke Hospital.

9:52 a.m. — Marion ambulance and Marion firefighters responded to Remington and 190th Rds. for an overturned cement truck. A man with unspecified injuries was transported by LifeTeam helicopter to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Thursday

12:16 p.m. — A man with a possible stroke was transported by Marion ambulance from the 1100 block of Denver St. to St. Luke Hospital.

6:23 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Cedar Hall at Tabor College. No smoke or fire was discovered.

6:54 p.m. — Peabody ambulance reported it was in transit. The newspaper’s system did not record the initial dispatch or patient information. At 7:05 p.m., Peabody ambulance requested a Harvey County advanced-life-support ambulance to rendezvous en route to Newton. At 7:21 p.m., Peabody ambulance arrived at Newton Medical Center. The newspaper’s system did not record a transmission indicating whether a rendezvous took place.

friday

7:12 a.m. — A woman in her 90s who fell out of bed was transported by Hillsboro ambulance from the 200 block of N. Lincoln St. to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

5:17 p.m. — LifeTeam helicopter transported a patient from St. Luke Hospital to Wesley Medical Center.

saturday

5:25 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the men’s quadrangle at Tabor College. No smoke or fire was discovered, and the alarm system was reset.

8:27 a.m. — Marion firefighters responded to a feed truck fire on Turkey Creek Rd. about one quarter mile southwest of the Marion County Lake dam.

3:39 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a controlled burn that was out of control on 120th Rd. between Holly and Indigo Rds.

4:17 p.m. — Burns firefighters responded to a grass fire at K-196 and NW 40th Rd. in Butler County.

4:29 p.m. — Florence firefighters responded to a controlled burn grass fire that was out of control on Yarrow Rd. north of US- 50. At 4:50 p.m. Marion fighters were paged to provide mutual assistance.

4:47 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a controlled burn from Friday that rekindled on Goldenrod Rd. between 210th and 220th Rds.

5 p.m. — Durham firefighters responded to a controlled burn that was out of control on 280th Rd. between K-15 and Indigo Rd.

5:27 p.m. — Tampa firefighters responded to a controlled burn that was out of control on 250th Rd. between Quail Creek and Remington Rds.

sunday

12:20 a.m. — Marion ambulance, Hillsboro ambulance, and Marion firefighters were dispatched to a one-car rollover accident on Sunflower Rd. near Green Acres motorcycle track. Two men were trapped in the vehicle. Marion ambulance transported one man to St. Luke Hospital, where he was taken by LifeTeam helicopter to Wesley Medical Center. EagleMed helicopter transported the second man from the accident scene. A transmission reporting the destination of the helicopter was not recorded by the newspaper’s system.

8:48 a.m. — Peabody ambulance provided advanced-life-support transportation of a patient from St. Luke Hospital to Newton Medical Center.

4:17 p.m. — Marion ambulance, Peabody ambulance, and Peabody firefighters responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of US-50 and Nighthawk Rd. A woman in her 30s was transported by LifeTeam helicopter to Wesley Medical Center. Marion ambulance transported a patient to Wesley Medical Center. Peabody ambulance transported a patient to Newton Medical Center.

Monday

3:59 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a railroad tie fire at 240th and Alamo Rds.

2:08 p.m. — Burns firefighters responded to a controlled burn grass fire that was out of control at 40th and Yarrow Rds.

2:21 p.m. — Marion ambulance responded to the 300 block of W. Main St. in Lehigh for an elderly woman who was cold and not breathing. Hillsboro first responders assisted with the call. At 2:50 p.m. a coroner was dispatched to the location.

5:13 p.m. — A woman in her 80s, whom the dispatcher reported as having “an altered level of consciousness,” was transported by Peabody ambulance from Peabody Care Center to Newton Medical Center.

5:33 p.m. — A woman with stomach pains was transported by Florence ambulance from the 300 block of N. Olive St. in Peabody to St. Luke Hospital..
