These fire and ambulance calls were monitored by the newspaper this past week:

May 2

3:08 a.m. — Peabody firefighters responded to a trash pile on fire in the 100 block of N. Pine St.

3:26 p.m. — Marion ambulance performed an advanced-life-support transfer from St. Luke Hospital to Via Christi – St. Francis in Wichita.

8:56 p.m. — Peabody ambulance reported it was en route to St. Luke with a patient. An initial page was not recorded by the newspaper’s system.

May 3

9:54 a.m. — A woman who fell and was complaining of head and back pain at Hilltop Manor was transported by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

12:40 p.m. — Marion ambulance performed an advanced-life-support transfer of a patient from St. Luke to Newton Medical Center.

10:45 p.m. — Marion ambulance performed an advanced-life-support transport of a patient from St. Luke to Via Christi – St. Francis.

thursday

4:30 a.m. — Marion ambulance and fire were dispatched to the1500 block of E. Main St. to provide lifting assistance. Upon arrival, EMTs radioed that firefighters were not needed. No transportation was provided.

7:03 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Date St. for a woman having a seizure and possibly not breathing. The woman was transported to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

4:04 p.m. — A man in the 300 block of N. B St. in Ramona reported that he had been beaten up and was bleeding. Tampa ambulance and sheriff’s deputies responded. Tampa ambulance arrived in Ramona at 4:28 p.m. and requested assurance from deputies that it was safe to proceed to the scene. A deputy responded that he did not believe anyone had injuries. EMTs reported transportation was refused.

friday

9:30 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance and fire responded to the 500 block of W. Grand St. for a man in his 90s who was reported to have passed out and was having difficulty breathing. The reporting party told dispatchers they could not feel a pulse. Marion ambulance was paged, arriving at 9:48 a.m., and transported the man to HCH.

3:47 p.m. — A man in his 80s who fell twice in the 100 block of Eisenhower Dr. was transported by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

4:11 p.m. — Burns firefighters were dispatched to a fire in Butler County, about 2½ miles south of Burns on NW Royer Rd., in which a lawnmower was burning near a building.

9:59 p.m. — A man in his 60s with breathing difficulties was transported by Marion ambulance from Nighthawk Rd. between 200 and 210th Rds. to HCH.

saturday

12:07 a.m. — Hillsboro ambulance performed an advanced-life-support transfer from HCH to Via Christi–St. Francis.

8:44 a.m. — Peabody fire was paged to respond to a fire alarm at Peabody Health and Rehab, but was dismissed a minute later when the alarm was reported to be false.

1:53 p.m. — Hillsboro fire department responded to the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. for a gas meter that was hit by a fallingtree.

9:08 p.m. — Marion ambulance transported a man with breathing difficulties from the 300 block of Birch St. in Hillsboro to HCH.

10:11 p.m. — Peabody firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide alarm going off on Timber Rd. between 60th and 70th Rds. Firefighters detected elevated levels of carbon monoxide and advised the homeowners to spend the night elsewhere and have their heating and air conditioning systems inspected to determine a cause.

sunday

1:07 p.m. — A patient in their 50s at Salem Home was transported by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

1:48 p.m. — Marion firefighters responded to the 500 block of N. Cedar St. for a ruptured gas line. Atmos Energy was contacted to shut off the gas.

2:22 p.m. — Hillsboro ambulance, Hillsboro fire, Goessel first response, and Peabody rescue responded to Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church on K-15 for a vehicle that has rolled onto its side. Hillsboro ambulance departed the scene with one patient, initially headed for Newton Medical, but was diverted en route to Via Christi – St. Francis.

5:59 p.m. — Ramona fire was dispatched to Nighthawk Rd. between 310th and 320th Rds. for a hay bale fire in close proximity to a combine. At 6:18 p.m., firefighters on the scene requested assistance from Tampa fire. Tampa units were released from the scene at 9:22 p.m.

monday

9:32 a.m. — Marion ambulance transferred a patient from St. Luke to Via Christi – St. Francis.

12:05 p.m. — Peabody fire was dispatched to Peabody Health and Rehab for a fire alarm. Firefighters were told to disregard the call at 12:08 p.m. based on a call from the center.
