Esther M. Prieb, 89, died March 1, 2012, in Hillsboro. She was born on Jan. 11, 1923, in rural Hillsboro to Ben and Martha (Dyck) Eitzen.

She married Jona Prieb on Oct. 28, 1943, in rural Hillsboro. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jona Prieb; three sons, Richard of Hesston, Steve of McPherson, and Keith of Derby; one daughter, Joyce Ashley of Goessel; one sister, Gladys Alley; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Loyal Martin officiating.

Burial will be in the Hillsboro M.B. Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Hillsboro M.B. Church Building Fund.

The family received guests from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
