Marion/Florence FFA Chapter organized and constructed a booth showcasing agriculture in Marion County for the Kansas State Fair county collective booth competition. Crops grasses, fruits, and vegetables were displayed in collective booths, which were scored according to the variety and quality of the commodities which were shown.
The booth from Marion County displayed 60 different samples and placed fourth in the competition.
Organizing a booth requires help from many people as crop and garden samples are obtained from local producers in the county. Producers that helped this year included Kenny Funk, Jirak Brothers Produce, Gary Evans, Leonard Hein, Duane Kirkpatrick, Jason Kruse, Christian Pedersen, Bob and JoAnn Good, Phoebe Janzen, Randy Svitak, Mary Kroupa, Jeff and Dee Herzet, Gary Stuchlik, Rickey Roberts, Marion County Extension, and Cooperative Grain and Supply.
FFA members Clint Kroupa, Lauren McLinden, Nick Meyer, and Elizabeth Meyer helped set up the booth.
