Fiennes Jantz

Fiennes Jantz, 91, a leader of Durham and Marion County senior citizen groups for many years, died Sunday at Salem Home, Hillsboro.

Born Dec. 5, 1923, to Ben and Alma (Johnson) Jantz at Durham, he married Arlene Holmes on April 19, 1953, at Abilene. She died in 1995.

A son, Tommy Jantz, and four sisters, Flora Jean Carlson, Sharon Wisdom, Delores Richert, Geneva Stucky, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Jerrie Sue Hoover of Griggstown, New Jersey; sisters Joan Huntoon, Donna Phillips, Evelyn Potts, and Shirley Branch, all of Wichita; brothers Manford Jantz of Middletown, Connecticut; Gerald Jantz of St. George, Utah; and Kenneth Jantz of Mesa, Arizona; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Durham Baptist Church. Family members will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

Memorial funds have been established with the church and with an African missions group.
