Fifth grade raised funds for charity
Marion Elementary School fifth-grade class raised funds for two local charities.
They decided to donate money this year in lieu of doing a Christmas gift exchange.
The National Fragile X Foundation was one of the recipients.
Maggie Vinduska is a MES fifth grader and her brother, Marion High School student Vince Vinduska is afflicted by Fragile X.
In thanks, the foundation sent a donor certificate and awareness wristbands.
They sent enough for every member in the fifth-grade class.
The American Cancer Society was the other recipient of funds raised.
