Florence Ehrlich

Florence Ruth Hefley was born July 22, 1927, on a farm near Durham, to Fred and Anna (Zimmerman) Hefley.

She was raised by her mother with help of her seven older siblings. Her father died in a farm accident in July 1937. Her siblings were Alma Schlautcher, Theodore, Reuben, Earlene Hilsenbeck, Alvie, Harvey, and Maynard Hefley.

She attended Durham public schools and attended Tabor College. After that, she worked at Groening Motor Company. Later she worked as manager of Marion County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office.

It was Sept. 4, 1954, when she was married to Jonathan Ehrlich by the Rev. Hinz at the Strassburg Baptist Church in Gale Township near Marion. Rev. Hinz was a college friend of Florenceā€™s and a neighbor to J.C.

To this union three children were born: Janet Lynne, Darryl Lee, and Carol Jean. God was gracious to help provide an education for all three children. They were also blessed with three grandchildren: Nathan Priddy, Anna Priddy, and Jacob Ehrlich.

Florence passed away April 27, 2010, at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

She is survived by her husband, J.C. Ehrlich of Marion; children, Janet and husband Alan Priddy of Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Darryl and wife Sylvia Ehrlich of Marion, and Carol and husband Bill Stevens of Red Bluff, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Services were 10:30 a.m. May 4 at Strassburg Baptist Church, Marion.

Interment was in Strassburg Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with the Strassburg Baptist Church Building Fund and St. Luke Living Center in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.
