Florence Holt

Florence Alice Holt, 90, formerly of Marion, died April 10, 2010, in Demorest, Ga.

Born Nov. 20, 1919, on a farm near Pilsen, she was the daughter of William Louis and Ella (Cerny) Silhan.

On Aug. 9, 1952, she married Arnold Lester Holt in Pilsen.

Florence was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Church-Holy Family Parish in Marion. She spent her life taking care of those she loved and enjoyed cooking for her family. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will begin at 7 p.m. Friday with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Parish in Marion with Father Hien Nguyen officiating.

She will be laid to rest at Marion Cemetery.

Left to cherish her memory are son Terry and wife Ann Holt of Marion; daughters Jean and husband Robert Spear of Clarkesville, Ga., and Carol and husband Marshall Sealine of Marshalltown, Iowa. Eleven dear grandchildren, Andy, Laura, Louis, and William Holt; Katie and husband Travis Vaughan; Michael and Krista Spear; Joel and wife Ashley Mattox; Kara Mattox; and Jenn and Jared Sealine; and three precious great-grandchildren, James, Mason, and Jackson. Her siblings Edward and wife Therese Silhan and Rita and husband Francis Steiner, and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Silhan and Juanita Silhan.

In death, Florence rejoined her husband, Arnold, her parents, and her siblings, Sister Theodosia (Irene), William, Mary Ann, Robert, and Richard.

A memorial fund has been established with St. Mark’s Church-Holy Family Parish, Marion.
