Patrons driving by the senior center who have noticed the red hibiscus blooms should know they were planted in memory of Richard Brenzikofer.
The final Saturday cookout was Aug 17. Warren and Donna Kreutziger helped make the cookouts possible by loaning their grill to the senior center three times during the summer. Ed Riffel grilled the hot dogs and hamburgers each time.
Jean Pierce brought birthday treats on Aug. 20.
Senior center president Sue Clough conducted the business meeting Aug. 21 for senior center day. The group voted to replace all the fluorescent lights in the building in preparation for the annual county meeting Oct. 17. Mayor Mary Olson and city administrator Doug Kjellin talked about the September housing project.
The center will be closed Labor Day.
City economic development director Roger Holter will speak Sept. 4.

Friday — Cheeseburger on a bun, lettuce, tomato, onion, potato salad, fruit.
Monday — Closed.
Tuesday — Taco salad on chips, refried beans, apple crisp.
Sept. 4 — Chicken enchiladas, rice, lettuce salad, fruit.
Sept. 5 — Roast pork, mashed potatoes, gravy, beets, fruit, whole wheat roll.
