Burdick couple Forrest and Marie Anderson died Friday as a result of an automobile accident near Marion.

A memorial service for the Andersons will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Herington. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at a viewing from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Forrest and Marie were very active in the Burdick community throughout their lives.

Forrest was born Sept. 7, 1923, to Wilbert and Grace (Lough) Anderson. He was a farmer and a stockman.

A sister, Maurine Johnson of Lindsborg, survives him.

Marie was born July 8, 1924, to Carl and Ida (Peters) Tiemann. She worked for The Federal Land Bank and Herington Hospital before becoming a full-time homemaker and farm wife.

She was preceded in death by brothers August, Alvin, Edwin, Arnold, and Arthur; and sisters Amanda Albrecht, Ella Dyer, and Elsie Henke.

She is survived by a brother Walter Tiemann of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A daughter, Karen Korte of Emporia; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter also survive the couple.

The family has requested memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church. They may be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory.
