CENTRE:   Four CHS golfers medal in league challenge

Golfers from the Wheat State League and the Heart of the Plains League competed Monday at Hesston.

Centre High School seniors Adam Matz and Tyler Klenda led their team to a first-place finish — ahead of Goessel, Peabody-Burns, Pretty Prairie, Burrton, Central Christian, and Pratt Skyline.

Matz scored a 79, and Klenda scored an 82 as first- and second-place medalers, respectively. Trevor Hageberg medaled in sixth place with a score of 89, and Dylan Svitak placed ninth with a 90.

MC Invitational

Adam Matz of Centre High School medaled Friday at the Marion County Invitational Golf Tournament in Marion and Hillsboro.

He took sixth place with a score of 79 at Hillsboro and an 81 at Marion.

Tyler Klenda missed a medal by two points, scoring 83 at Hillsboro and 84 at Marion. He finished in 11th place.

The team finished in 9th place overall among 16 teams.
