Frances M. Hanschu, 89, died Thursday. She was born April 23, 1923, to Emanuel and Anna (Schlothauer) Batt.

She married Clinton Hanschu on Aug. 1, 1943, at Florence Methodist Church. She farmed with her husband for many years in the Ramona area. She later owned and operated the Hanschu Market in Ramona until her retirement.

Her husband preceded her in death in 2006. She moved to Olathe in 2008 to be nearer to her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton; and one brother, Alvin Batt.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharyn Mueller of Olathe; one son, Randy Hanschu of Kansas City, Kan.; four granddaughters; four great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services were Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ramona with Pastor Clark Davis officiating. Burial was at the Lewis Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Trinity Lutheran Church.
