Frank Willems Jr.

Frank James Willems Jr., 62, of Newton, died May 15 at his home.

Born Feb. 12, 1948, in French Camp, Calif., to the Rev. Frank Sr. and Velma (Reimer) Willems, he married Beverly Ann Classen on May 24, 1968, in Newton.

He attended Tabor College. Later he was employed by Hillsboro Industries and Reimer Motors of McPherson. They moved to Newton in 1976.

He was a member of Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Newton and was an original member of “Hearts 4 Him,” a Gospel group.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of the home; a son, Daniel of Park City; three daughters, Kristine Jeakins of Rapid City, S.D., Amanda Hilyard of El Dorado, and Cynthia Megonigle of Mulvane; his parents, the Rev. Frank and Velma Willems of Newton; two brothers, Joe of Hillsboro and Harry of Wichita; a sister, Sunny Christensen of Marion; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Newton.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.

Memorial funds have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and the camping ministry fund of Koerner Heights Church in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway St., Newton, KS 67114.
