Free entry to Marion vs. Hillsboro football

Colleges will have information booths

Marion High School will offer free admission to its football game against Hillsboro High School this Friday. USD 408 Superintendent Lee Leiker said sponsorships from businesses in Marion and Hillsboro made the free admission possible.

It will be the second district game for both teams. Marion is 1-0 in district, and Hillsboro is 0-1.

Additionally, the game will include a college exploration night. Representatives from at least nine colleges will be in attendance with information for high school students and parents. Colleges that had confirmed plans to attend as of Tuesday were:

  • Bethel College.
  • Butler Community College.
  • Central Christian College.
  • Emporia State University.
  • Flint Hills Technical College.
  • Hesston College.
  • Kansas State University.
  • Kansas Wesleyan University.
  • McPherson College.
  • Tabor College.

The school continued to invite colleges to have representatives at the game.

There will also be a tailgate before the game, as well as a rollover simulation presented by Kansas Highway Patrol.
