Free classes offered by Butler of Marion

March 31 is Free Class Day at Butler Community College of Marion. Free Class Day is an opportunity for members of the community to take several non-credit classes on a variety of subjects.

Schedule highlights are as follows:

8:30 to 9:30 a.m. — Guitar Basics and Three-chord Songs by Mike Moran; Flint Hills Knapping and Native American History by Gary Schuler; Crocheting by Karen Ehrlich; estate planning; financial planning; computer basics; presentation by Marion Chief of Police Tyler Mermis.

9:30 to 10:30 a.m. — The American Civil War by Max Terman; Art Projects by Jan Davis; yoga; Internet safety; financial and long-term planning; Big Trucks and Big Fun at Warriors Stadium.

10:30 to 11:30 a.m. — Zumba on the second floor of the St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary Shop building; Relaxation Techniques by Carolan McFarland; Laying Ceramic Tile by Chris Sprowls; Digital Scrapbooking by Lisa Johnson; Facebook for Beginners, by Jami Williams; Marion Then & Now, a session about Marion history; knitting.

11:30 a.m. — Drying Wildflowers and Native Plants by Mary Beth Bowers; Permaculture by Shana Thornhill; How to Tell Your Family’s Story by Nancy Methvin; Going to College, for recent high school graduates or adults; Quilting Techniques by Sew What Quilt Shop; Paper Crafts and Card-making; question-and-answer session with Rep. Bob Brookens; Line Dancing class at Lana’s Dance Studio.
