Free passes to family attractions available

Staff writer

Six attractions in the Hutchinson and Wichita areas now will be available at no cost through Marion City Library.

As of Monday, 2026 “Adventure Passes” can be picked up for entry to Sedgwick County Zoo, Field Station: Dinosaurs in Derby, Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Goddard, Kansas Cosmosphere, Botanica, and Exploration Place.

Marion Community Foundation provided money for the passes.

All locations are within an hour-and-a-half of Marion.

“Glad we’re able to do it … and get costs covered,” library director Janet Marler said. “Hopefully families can make memories at these places.”

Most passes will be valid until July 2027. Field Station: Dinosaurs passes will expire in December.

They can be checked out like books. Anybody who is an existing library user, or who is “in good standing” with the library may obtain the passes, Marler said.

“You can’t just walk in off the street,” she said.

More information is available at (620) 382-2442.
