Fundraiser started to help with cancer treatment for Steve Janzen

Marion resident Jeannie Wildin recently started a fundraising website to assist Steve and Phoebe Janzen with medical expenses related to Steve’s precision oncology treatments.

Steve has metastatic pancreatic cancer. His cancer has responded to chemotherapy treatments but he has had severe reactions to it that have resulted in emergency room visits and hospital stays.

As part of the precision oncology treatments, Steve is undergoing a genome analysis, which helps match a patient’s specific cancer with clinical trials.

Very little of the process is covered by insurance.

The goal is $40,000, which will help pay for the initial process, clinical trials, as well as any travel and lodging.

Those who wish to make a donation can visit http://www.stevejanzen.myevent.com.

To donate by mail, send donations to County Seat Decorating Center, 130 E. Main St., Marion, KS 66861, or drop donations off in person. Those who have questions should contact Wildin, at (620) 382-4270.
