Fundraising meets challenge
Donors who gave to St. Luke Hospital met a challenge from the Lorraine Hadsell Charitable Trust to raise $75,000 for the hospital’s upcoming renovation.
After donating $25,000, the trust announced it would match donations dollar-for-dollar through July 31, up to $75,000. During that time, the hospital raised $76,730 to match the trust’s donation.
“I knew it would be tough to meet the Hadsell matching gift challenge, but once again the community support has exceeded my expectations,” Jeremy Armstrong, chief executive officer of St. Luke Hospital, said.
St. Luke Foundation has raised more than $820,000 for renovations since September. Hutton Construction of Wichita is the contractor for the project, which should begin soon, hospital spokesman Mike Norris said Monday.
