Gary A. Bartlett, 71, died peacefully at his home in Wichita on Monday, Aug. 27 . He was born June 18, 1941, in Wichita, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Alberta Bartlett, formerly of Marion; and by his brother, Donald E. Bartlett.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl; daughter, Kelly Greene and husband, Danny, of Topeka; son, Bob Bartlett and wife, Kim, of Whitewater; and grandchildren, Meghann Boatright and husband, Clark; and Joel Greene, all of Topeka; Melissa Bartlett of Wichita; and Trent Bartlett of Whitewater.

Gary and Sheryl grew up in Florence and graduated from Florence High School. Gary was a barber in his early years and started working at Beech Aircraft Corporation in Wichita in 1963. In 1984, they moved from Florence to Wichita and Gary retired from Hawker Beechcraft in May of 2011.

Services were held at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East Chapel in Wichita at 2 p.m. on Aug. 31. Graveside services were held at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence at 2 p.m. on Sept. 1.
