Gay agenda?

To the editor:

In response to last week’s letter (and numerous letters prior) from Chuck and Gloria Seifert, I’d like to throw in my two cents.

As you’ve expressed concern countless times before, I would like to clarify that my parking space never has, never is, and never will be used as a political statement. If you so strongly believe political statements are best left private, I’d love to hear your opinion on the “Trump Train” and “Make America Great Again” parking stalls located on the same school grounds.

Funny, isn’t it, how those obvious political statements have never been an issue of yours?

Furthermore, I (and God knows how many others) would prefer if you no longer referred to my sexuality as a “personal agenda of his private lifestyle.”

Being gay isn’t a lifestyle. I was born this way, and I shouldn’t have to hide it from two closed-minded bigots of society. I am beyond proud of who I am, and I wouldn’t change anything about me. I see no reason in privatizing my sexuality. After all, straight people don’t have to do it.

As for this “personal agenda,” which I assume is referring to the “gay agenda,” all I have to say is, “Let it spread.” The gay agenda is an attempt to gain acceptance and equal rights by showing the world that gay lives are just the same as straight lives.

As for your concern over the school board’s recent decision to end this beloved tradition, all the thanks goes right towards you two, the only two to have such an issue with my parking space to complain to higher powers. Yes, you took advantage of your freedoms and rights, but at what cost? Thanks to your extremist religious views, a tradition loved by numerous community members has been ended. Childish is just one of few words that could be used to describe your actions over the past couple of months.

I believe confrontation is best left face to face. So if you’d like to voice your opinion, feel free to get in contact with me. It would be an honor to be in the presence of the two people who have tried their best to make my senior year a nightmare but have sadly failed.

But until that day comes, keep in mind that the world is such a bigger rainbow than what I painted on that spot.
