Gaylen Youk, 67, died April 11at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

He was born Aug. 9, 1949, to Leland and Lorene (Keller) Youk in Hillsboro. He married Betty Meetz on Sept. 23, 1988, in Newton.

Survivors include: wife, Betty Youk of Durham; sons, James Youk of Chillicothe, Ohio, Darrin Youk of Hillsboro, and Paul Youk of Lawrence; stepsons, Larry Siemens of Newton and Gary Siemens of Hawi, Hawaii; stepdaughters, Brenda Gronau of Newton and Christy Harvey of El Dorado; sisters, Shirley Carstens of Newton, Carolyn Schmidt of Newton, Margie Geisler of Metairie, Louisiana, Sharon Kelsey of Marion, Vickie Huxman of Hillsboro, and Laurie Koslowsky of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Shaw.

Services were Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with interment at Durham Park Cemetery, Durham.
