Ginger Richter

Ginger Lynn Richter, 57, of Florence, died Aug. 14 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus, Wichita.

Born Jan. 30, 1953, in Marion, to William and Juanita Helmer, she graduated from Marion High School.

She moved to Wichita and attended cosmetology school.

In 1975, she moved to Soda Springs, Idaho, where her two children were born. In 1984, she returned to Marion with her children to be closer to her parents and siblings.

She was employed by Kansas Department of Transportation for 15 years. Most recently, Ginger was employed by Salem Home in Hillsboro to be near her mother.

Her father preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Nicolas Toupin of Ponchas Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Natali Toupin of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother, Galen of Marion; and two sisters, Greta Smith of Marion and Gena Brandt of Yankton, S.D.

Services will be 5 p.m. Friday at Marion County Lake Hall. The family will receive visitors 4 to 8 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established at Tampa State Bank, Marion.
