Gladys L. (Carr) Knapp, 93, died March 7, 2012, in Mission, Texas, where she spent the winters.
She was born July 2, 1918, in Kearney County to William A. and Bertha Willey Carr. As a young girl, she moved to Marion County where she was raised and educated.
In her adult years, she lived mostly in Missouri and for many years in Kansas City where she worked as a factory inspector.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Thayes at age 8; two brothers, Elston and Max Carr; and her two husbands, Loren Weddle and Richard Knapp.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Wanda Carr of Marion; step-children Cheryl South of Plattsburg, Mo., Richard Lee Knapp of Monte Vista, Colo., Margaret Shields of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Charles Knapp of Chandler, Ariz.; Mark Knapp of San Francisco, Calif.; and Benjamin Knapp of Mount Ayr, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Valley United Methodist Church, Marion. Interment will be in Marion Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.
