Glen Strotkamp

Glen A. Strotkamp, 79, of Burns died Dec. 11 at his home.

He was born June 5, 1932, to Aloysius and Bertha (Weber) Strotkamp in Butler County. He owned and operated the feed store in Burns for many years. He was a member of Burns Lions Club and St. John’s Catholic Church. He raised cattle, went trap shooting, and was active in the community, serving as a council member and mayor. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve for eight years.

He married Dorothea Holtsclaw on June 9, 1952, in Burns. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2000.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Victor, and his parents.

He is survived by two sons, Audie Strotkamp of Peabody and Chuck Strotkamp of Wichita; a daughter, Patricia Wedel of Newton; a sister, Shirley Strotkamp of Peabody; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church, El Dorado. Recitation of the Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Interment will follow the Mass at Burns Catholic Cemetery.
