Glenn Steely

Lost Springs area native Glenn B. Steely, 90, former owner of a Mobil Oil bulk plant in McPherson, died Saturday at McPherson Hospital.

Services were to have been this morning at Stockham Funeral Home, McPherson, followed by burial in McPherson Cemetery.

Born Oct. 3, 1922, to John P. and Ella Mae (Gilbert) Steely, he married Florence M. Herpich on Oct. 3, 1948, at White City.

She survives, along with eight nieces and nephews. A sister and four brothers preceded him in death.

A former Herington resident, he was a life member of the Elks in McPherson and Horseless Carriage Club in Wichita. He also worked as an aircraft mechanic, pilot, and homebuilder.

Memorial funds have been established with McPherson County Humane Society and Hospice and Homecare of Reno County.
