Guy R. Parsons Jr., 92, of Wichita, died Jan. 2.

Born Nov. 8, 1918, on a farm near Degraff, to Guy Sr. and Mary (Abplanalp) Parsons, he attended schools in Potwin and Burns, graduating in 1937 from Burns High School.

He entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1942 and served in the South pacific as a corporal during World War II.

He married Cleta Tyler on Nov. 14, 1947. They were married 63 years.

Guy retired as an inspector in 1983 from Beech Aircraft.

His parents; a sister, Mary Long; and two infant children, Guyla Sue and Ronnie Guy, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Cleta, of Wichita; a daughter, Susan Sanders of Derby; a son, John of Wichita; three sisters, Ruth Wright of Peabody, Marjorie Gfeller of Burns, and Nettie Graham of Hesston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were Thursday at Olivet Baptist Church, Wichita.

Burial was at Pleasant Center Cemetery, Burns.
