Retired Excel Industries quality control specialist Guy W. Wright, 69, died Sunday at Peabody Health and Rehab.

Born Dec. 7, 1946, in El Dorado to Cecil and Ruth (Parsons) Wright, he graduated in 1964 from Peabody High School and on July 7, 1990, married Janis Provence in Maize.

She survives along with his sister, Cecilia Giberson of Mountain Home, Idaho; daughter, Jaci Wright of Hesston; and sons, Guy Wright Jr. of Newton, Eric Wright of Hesston, Wes Rogers of Mount Hope, David Rogers of El Dorado, and Mike Rogers of Deland, Florida; 23 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 tonight at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Relatives will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Marion Christian Church, pastor Carl Helm presiding. Masonic rites will be offered by Newton Lodge 142. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery, El Dorado.

Memorials have been established with the church and Kansas Masonic Foundation.
