One of our resident columnists, Norma Hannaford, will celebrate her 106th birthday Saturday. What an incredible fete!

In this day and age, most of us are happy to make it to another year and cannot imagine living on this earth for more than a century.

The number of changes this woman has seen is amazing.

More amazing than that is the fact she still lives at home, takes care of herself, and writes a weekly column for our newspaper.

What a tribute to her spirit.

So, happy birthday, Norma. We appreciate your service to this newspaper and leadership in this community. You are a great example of fortitude and will always be treasured for your wit and wisdom.
