Harold B. Jost

Harold B. Jost, 97, of Hillsboro died May 30 at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

He was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Hillsboro to John R. and Helena Baerg Jost. He was city clerk of Hillsboro.

He married Marie Franz on April 25, 1943, in Buhler. She preceded him in death in 2004.

He is survived by two sons, Howard Jost of North Haledon, N.J., and Loren Jost of Riverton, Wyo.; two daughters, Annette Albrecht of Richardson, Texas, and Christine Harms of San Mateo, Calif.; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Jost’s funeral was to be held this morning at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Roy Keller officiating. Burial was to be held this morning today at Gnadenau Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

Memorial funds have been established for Salem Home and Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church.
