Helen Jane Klassen, 93, of Hillsboro died Oct. 10 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

She was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Ingalls to Jacob C. and Katherine (Thiessen) Willems. She was an elementary school teacher.

She married Abraham S. Klassen on Oct. 6, 1940 in Inman. He preceded her in death in 1998.

She is survived by one son, Lynell Klassen of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Laurel Kauffman of Kansas City, Mo., and Shirley Baltzer of Lehigh; one brother, Ed Willems of Goddard; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro, officiated by Pastor Steve Schroeder. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Springfield Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.

The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.

A memorial fund has been established with the Mennonite Central Committee.
