Rojelio “Roy” Cruz Hernandez II, who is accused in the disappearance of a Lehigh teen, has been extradited to Odessa, Texas.

The 21-year-old Latino male was arrested Oct. 15 in Brown County after an Amber Alert was issued to find 17-year-old Tara Simhiser of Lehigh who was reported missing Oct. 13. She and Hernandez were found Oct. 15 in Hiawatha

Hernandez was charged in Brown County with contributing to a child’s misconduct and driving on a suspended license. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail but the sentence was suspended and he was given probation for a year.

In Marion County, Hernandez pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery charges. He served 10 days in the Marion County Jail and was placed on unsupervised probation for a year.

Following his stint in the county jail, Hernandez was picked up by the Ector County Texas Sheriff’s Department and transported to face charges there.

Currently, there is a pending charge to revoke his probation on unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Marion County officials believe there will be more charges filed against Hernandez in Texas.
