Hillsboro Fire Department will hold an open house from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the fire station.

The department has done an open house for a couple years, said fire chief Ben Steketee.

This year, funds will go toward purchasing nice pants and polo T-shirts for firefighters to wear to special events.

“If there’s a nice function for us to go to, we want something a little nicer,” Steketee said. “We raise money for things like that on our own so our firemen can have something they can wear with pride.”

Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks will be offered, and raffle tickets for a 50” HDTV will be sold for $5 each or 5 for $20.

Free will donations will be accepted.
