Dec. 5: Assistance was provided with a non-injury accident at 190th and Jade roads. An officer attended K-9 training. A driver received assistance after being locked out of a vehicle at Tabor College.

Dec. 6: The coroner received assistance with an unattended death in the 200 block of North Jefferson Street. Sheriff’s deputies received assistance with a truck inspection. A parking complaint was checked in the 300 block of South Lincoln Street. Individuals were fingerprinted for employment. Assistance with an investigation was provided to Social and Rehabilitative Services personnel. Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance when an alarm was activated at Tabor College. Parking citations were issued in the 400 block of South Adams Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.

Dec. 7: Lost property was returned to the owner. Several warnings were issued seatbelt violations. A landlord and tenant dispute was reported in the 400 block of West Grand Avenue. Individuals were fingerprinted for employment. Bicycles were registered at the police department.

Dec. 8: A theft of a laptop computer, valued at $1,100, was reported at Tabor College. A domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Ash Street was reported when an individual claimed someone had damaged her front door, broken her cell phone, and broken the windshield of a vehicle that belonged to a friend, then left the scene; charges are pending against a 19-year-old Hillsboro man in this case. Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance with a possible commercial fire in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Warnings were issued regarding new traffic signs at Hillsboro Elementary School.

Thursday: Assistance was provided when semi trucks became lost after a detour because of a traffic accident on U.S. 50. Social services received assistance with an investigation.

Friday: Lost property was returned to the owner. A disturbance in the 100 block of North Main Street was determined to be a civil disagreement between an owner and a contract employee. A camper hook-up was provided in Memorial Park. A burglary complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Ash Street when someone entered a residence and removed a game player and games. There were no signs of forced entry. A possible domestic disturbance was reported in the 200 block of South Cedar Street.

A domestic disturbance in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street Friday was reported when an individual reported being assaulted by her boyfriend while at his apartment. The victim’s key could not be found so officer assisted in obtaining a new one. While assisting the victim, the suspect burglarized the victim’s vehicle and removed personal items. The victim’s items were located in the suspect’s apartment. The victim also reported that she was pursuing stalking charges in McPherson County.
