Nov. 14: Found property was returned to the owner. A parking complaint was checked in the 400 block of South Washington Street. The sheriff’s office received assistance with an injury accident on Indigo Road. A bicycle was reported missing in the 200 block of East Grand Avenue and was determined to be the same bicycle recovered by police several days earlier. A dead coyote was removed from Third Street.
Nov. 15: A minor accident in the 300 block of West Third Street did not require a report. Assistance was provided to Social and Rehabilitative Services with an investigation. A possible intoxicated driver was reported in the 800 block of East D Street.
Nov. 16: A violation of a protection from abuse order was reported in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue; an individual reported that her ex-boyfriend had another member of his family contact her — a violation of the order. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. An officer instructed a D.A.R.E. class at Hillsboro Elementary School. A bicycle was reported stolen from Tabor College; an abandoned bicycle was recovered in the 200 block of South Adams Street. A parking complaint was checked in the 600 block of East D Street. A bicycle that had been reported stolen earlier was recovered. Assistance was provided to emergency medical services personnel in the 400 block of South Oak Street.
Nov. 17: A parking complaint was checked at Tabor College. An officer attended training for searching buildings. A commercial alarm was activated in Hillsboro Heights. A bicycle that had been previously stolen from Tabor College was recovered. A vehicle reportedly drove away from a gas pump in the 500 block of East D Street with the gas pump nozzle still in the vehicle. A parking complaint was checked in the 300 block of South Washington Street. Someone reported a skunk in the 300 block of North Lincoln Street. The sheriff’s office received assistance with removing cattle from a road.
Thursday: Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s with a non-injury accident on Indigo Road. Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance with an activated alarm at Tabor College. A noise complaint was checked in the 100 block of North Cedar Street.
Friday: A water leak was located at Adams and First streets. Officers attended a safety meeting at City Hall. Lost property was returned in Hillsboro Heights. Assistance was provided with a child custody transfer at the police department. A criminal threat occurred in the 400 block of West Grand Avenue, which also was a violation of a protection from abuse order.
Saturday: Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks received assistance. An officer met with school officials regarding an investigation. Two children were reportedly creating a traffic hazard downtown. A dog complaint was checked on North Lincoln Street. Nails that had been dropped on D Street were picked up. A harassment complaint was filed in the 800 block of East D Street, when an individual reported being harassed on Facebook. A second harassment complaint was filed in the 800 block of East D Street, when an individual reported being harassed by their landlord while at work. Officers assisted with the Christmas parade.
