March 28: Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call in the 100 block of East First Street. Missing property was recovered and returned to the owner. A burglary was reported in the 400 block of North Jefferson Street, when someone entered a dorm room and stole a game player and a laptop. An individual reported someone had threatened her and her roommate in the 400 block of South Birch Street. Assistance was provided to someone filing a domestic complaint. An officer assisted as a firearms instructor at the law enforcement academy.
March 29: Officers attended cardiopulmonary resuscitation training at city hall. A dog complaint at Adams and A streets was checked. An officer assisted as an instructor at the law enforcement academy. A child custody complaint in the 400 block of South Birch Street was filed when a parent did not return his children from visitation; the children were picked up at Hutchinson Police Department; the parent could not be located because he was aware of local warrants. A civil standby was provided in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A funeral escort was provided. Officers practiced on the firearms range. Suspicious activity was checked downtown. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes.
March 30: An officer assisted as instructor at the law enforcement academy. A child custody dispute was reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A dog complaint was checked on Prairie Pointe Street. Reno County authorities received assistance in searching for a wanted subject. A domestic dispute was reported in the 200 block of South Date Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 100 block of North Main Street.
Thursday: Officers attended training at Marion County Lake and assisted as instructors at the law enforcement academy. An activated commercial alarm was checked in the industrial park. EMS personnel received assistance with a call in the 200 block of South Cedar Street. A phone harassment complaint was reported in the 200 block of North Lincoln Street.
Friday: A two-vehicle, non-injury accident was investigated in the 200 block of South Main Street. Assistance was provided to several motorists because of a detour on U.S. 50 after an accident. An activated commercial alarm in the industrial park was checked. A possible burglary was reported in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue; a vehicle was located and searched and charges are pending against several juveniles.
Saturday: Peabody police received assistance with a runaway juvenile. An officer attended fire department training in Hillsboro Heights. A bicycle was reported stolen in the 500 block of East D Street; the bicycle was located across the street at Tabor College. An out-of-control juvenile was reported at Hillsboro Community Hospital and was transported to Prairie View. A report of numerous males arguing in the street in the 200 block of North Washington Street was checked; most of the individuals fled when police arrived.
