Police report

June 6: An abandoned bicycle was recovered. A dog complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Birch Street.

June 7: Officers assisted with weather watch. A parking complaint was checked at F and Ash streets. A dog complaint was made in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. A complaint was filed of a juvenile walking in the center of a street. A motorist received assistance at F and Ash streets. Assistance was provided to the Kansas Attorney General’s office with an investigation. Several suspicious juveniles were checked at Grand Avenue and Ash Street.

June 8: A parking complaint was checked in the 400 block of South Ash Street. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of West Third Street. Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance with a gas spill in the 500 block of West D Street. A complaint was filed of small, unattended children playing around vehicles at a business. Reckless driving was reported at B and Lincoln streets.

June 9: An abandoned vehicle was tagged on U.S. 56. A natural gas leak was reported at Third and Ash streets. Assistance was provided with fueling an aircraft at Hillsboro Municipal Airport. A dog complaint was checked in the 200 block of North Main Street. A motorist received assistance in the 100 block of North Ash Street. An out-of-control child was reported in the 400 block of East First Street when a child assaulted another child and broke a window.

Thursday: Officers attended emergency preparedness training in Hillsboro. An assault was reported in the 400 block of East First Street when officers found two unattended children with minor injuries who had just been involved in a physical confrontation. Assistance was provided to Hillsboro Fire Department in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A parking complaint was checked in the 100 block of South Lincoln Street.

Friday: A person was reported missing person in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street. A theft was reported at Tabor College. Hillsboro City Council packets were delivered. An activated commercial alarm was checked in the 300 block of North Ash Street. A peddler’s license was issued. A threat complaint was filed in the 400 block of South Birch Street. Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services received assistance in the 300 block of West B Street; a child was taken into protective custody. A curfew citation was issued. Assistance was provided to a bicyclist on Indigo Road.

Saturday: The sheriff’s department received assistance with a burglary in progress call in Durham. Individuals were taken into custody on drug charges. A parking complaint was checked at Hillsboro Heights. A stranded motorist received assistance in the 500 block of East D Street.
