Aug. 20: A report of someone driving a vehicle through a drainage ditch in the 500 block of East First Street was filed.

Aug. 21: Stolen items were recovered in the 100 block of South Main Street. A damage complaint was investigated in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue; someone broke a storm door with an unknown projectile.

Aug. 22: Officers assisted the Federal Bureau of Investigation with an arrest and search warrant in the 300 block of North Washington Street.

Aug. 23: A person reported receiving threatening messages over the Internet. A damage report was filed in the 400 block of South Washington Street; a woman reported that her tires had been cut by an estranged boyfriend. A report of an aggressive hawk sitting on top of a vehicle was filed in the 200 block of East D Street.

Aug. 24: A person reported that a juvenile had arrived at a residence and had been armed with a firearm; an investigation revealed that the gun was a broken airsoft pistol.

Aug. 25: A report of several employees consuming alcohol was filed in the 800 block of East D Street. The car of a reckless driver was found on Main Street; charges are pending against the suspect. Officers assisted Newton Police Department with a complaint; a subject reported a person was en route to Hillsboro and was possibly intoxicated; the suspect vehicle was located at an apartment complex in the 200 block of South Jefferson Street.
