July 26 — Officers handled a traffic complaint at D and Ash streets and assisted the county attorney with an investigation.

July 27 — A utility complaint was made in the 600 block of West Grand Avenue. A traffic hazard was reported at D and Main streets. A prowler was reported in the 100 block of North Washington Street.

July 28 — Officers provided a camper hook-up in Memorial Park, fingerprinted someone for employment, checked an abandoned vehicle near U.S. 56 and Ash Street, took a report of someone throwing tennis balls at vehicles in the 300 block of North Ash Street, checked a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of South Main Street, and received a report of a suspicious odor in the 300 block of South Washington Street.

July 29 — Police provided security for the Fire Jam concert at the fairgrounds, assisted the sheriff with an investigation, helped City Hall issue a peddler’s license, assisted with the Marion County Fair parade, and took a loitering complaint in the 500 block of East D Street.

July 30 — Officers assisted Court Services with home visits, helped at Fire Jam, worked with McPherson police on an investigation, assisted the sheriff in serving a civil process, helped Newton police locate a wanted felon, took a report of suspicious activity in the 400 block of North Ash Street, and helped emergency medical personnel with a victim of a fall at Main and Third streets.

July 31 —A $15 sledgehammer was reported stolen from a garage in the 200 block of South Floral Drive. A window on a parked car was reported broken near Main Street and Grand Avenue. Officers also assisted a motorist in the 400 block of North Ash Street, provided security at Fire Jam, checked suspicious vehicles in the 200 block of North Main Street, assisted McPherson police with an investigation, and took a report of a possibly suicidal person in the 300 block of South Cedar Street.

Aug. 1 — A 3-year-old child was reported found wandering unattended in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue. Officers also helped with traffic and crowd control at the County Fair demolition derby, took a parking complaint in the 300 block of South Cedar Street, received a report of several suspicious people in Memorial Park, and investigated a 911 disconnect in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street.

Aug. 2 — Property reported lost at the fairgrounds was located and returned to its owner. An adult out of control was reported in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A child custody dispute was reported in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. A parking complaint was made in the 200 block of South Lincoln Street. The police canine unit searched a vehicle in the 200 block of West Grand Avenue. A possible bond violation was checked in the 300 block of South Ash Street. A Peabody resident complained that someone in the 300 block of South Ash Street had been harassing him by telephone.

Aug. 3 — Officers assisted the sheriff with cattle loose on U.S. 56 and took reports of a pellet gun being discharged in the 300 block of North Washington Street.

Aug. 4 — A 911 disconnect near Eisenhower and C streets was investigated. Officers assisted the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services with an investigation.

Aug. 5 — A city code violation was reported in the 200 block of North Washington Street. Officers assisted the U.S. Army with a background investigation. A parking complaint in the 200 block of North Washington Street, a child-custody dispute, and a report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of North Main Street also were investigated.

Thursday — Officers helped with a camper hook-up at Memorial Park and investigated a parking complaint in the 200 block of West Third Street and a dog complaint at Lincoln and A streets.

Friday — Officers again helped with a camper hook-up at Memorial Park, fingerprinted someone for employment, investigated a 911 disconnect, and assisted the sheriff with an intoxicated person in Lehigh.

Saturday — Police helped SRS with an investigation, handled a dog-bite complaint in the 300 block of North Madison Street, and assisted the sheriff in investigating suspicious activity near 190th and Jade roads.
