Aug. 30: A verbal argument between a man and a woman was reported in the 100 block of North Madison Street. As a result, a man was arrested on outstanding warrants and transported to Marion County Jail. Suspicious activity was checked at Adams and C streets. A civil dispute was investigated in the 700 block of West Grand Avenue when a confrontation occurred between a man and a woman. The dispute resulted in a civil stand-by being provided. Officers seized drug paraphernalia at the scene and charges are pending. A gas skip was reported in the 300 block of North Ash Street. Marion County Sheriff Department received assistance with a theft report. Assistance was provided to Wichita Police Department with a dog bite report at Hillsboro Community Hospital. Herington Police Department was assisted with an investigation.

Aug. 31: Charges are pending after two juveniles reported being shot with an Airsoft rifle by a third juvenile in the 300 block of North Birch Street. A driver of a vehicle fled during a traffic stop in the 400 block of East D Street. The driver threw his vehicle keys at an officer and fled onto Tabor College campus. Someone broke a window to gain entry to the athletic center at the Tabor College/USD 410 Football Stadium. Damage was estimated at $200. A vehicle window was reported broken in the 300 block of South Wilson Street. A stray dog that was emaciated and in poor condition was picked up in the 300 block of North Birch Street. An out-of-control student was reported at Tabor College when he reportedly displayed strange behavior and entered a female dorm room without permission. The student was told to leave campus and refused. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and transported to Marion County Jail. Officers later responded to a business in Hillsboro Heights for an out-of-control person. It was the same individual from the earlier incident at Tabor College. The individual had posted bail, been released from jail, and was at the business with his parents. When the individual was placed in a patrol car, he kicked out a car door window. He was transported to a mental health facility. A suicidal person was reported at Hillsboro Community Medical Center and was transported to a mental health facility. A noise complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Ash Street.

Sept. 1: A possible attempted phone scam was reported in the 300 block of South Washington Street. A suspicious person was checked at Main and Second streets. Lost property was returned to the owner. A welfare check was conducted in Memorial Park.

Sept. 2: Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services was assisted with an investigation. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of West Grand Avenue. A bag possibly containing marijuana was found in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street and given to authorities.

Sept. 3: A traffic complaint was checked in the 900 block of East D Street. A confused elderly person was located and returned home. A funeral escort was provided. Assistance with an investigation was provided to SRS. A door-to-door salesman was reported selling without a permit. An activated commercial alarm was checked in Hillsboro Industrial Park. A verbal argument between a father and adult son was reported in the 600 block of East A Street.

Sept. 5: A suspicious person received assistance on U.S. 56. A dog bite was reported in the 300 block of East First Street. Drug paraphernalia was found by Tabor College staff on campus and turned over to authorities.
