Feb. 14: A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A traffic complaint was checked at Main and Ash streets. A dog complaint was filed in the 300 block of South Ash Street. A suspicious person was checked in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street.

Feb. 15: Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services personnel and McPherson Police Department were assisted with investigations. An out-of-control juvenile in the 300 block of South Main Street was arrested and transported to a juvenile detention facility. An officer taught a DARE class at Hillsboro Elementary School. Assistance was provided to SRS with a home visit in the 300 block of South Washington Street. The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident at D and Washington streets was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and theft of a motor vehicle. A dead lamb was placed on a vehicle in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street.

Feb. 16: Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of South Main Street when a puppy was reported missing after people had visited and the owner was concerned that the puppy could not survive without the mother dog. Kansas Attorney General’s office received assistance with an investigation. Assistance was provided to an individual who was locked out of a vehicle. A dog complaint was filed in the 900 block of East D Street. Boy Scouts were given a tour of Hillsboro Police Department.

Feb. 17: A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. Officers responded to a report of a juvenile with a BB gun. A parent secured the gun. Hillsboro Fire Department received assistance with a structure fire in Prairie Pointe Subdivision. Officers taught a DARE class at HES and attended supervisor’s training.

Feb. 18: Parking complaints were filed in the 400 block of South Adams Street and the 400 block of South Birch Street. A skunk was reported at the sports complex. Assistance was provided when a large structure was moved through town. A park curfew violation occurred at the sports complex. Officers attended training.

Feb. 19: Possible deprivation of property was reported in the 100 block of West D Street. An individual was fingerprinted for employment purposes. A commercial alarm was activated in the 600 block of South Ash Street. A park curfew violation was reported.

Feb. 20: Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with non-injury accidents on Indigo Road and at 190th and Limestone roads.
