Police Report

March 14: A child custody dispute was reported in the 300 block of North Madison Street. A business owner was locked out of a business in the 100 block of East Grand Avenue. A motorist received assistance in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A civil dispute occurred in the 300 block of South Ash Street.

March 15: An officer attended drug enforcement training. Assistance was provided with the issuance of a liquor license. Telephone harassment was reported in the 300 block of North Jefferson Street. The city’s electric department received assistance with a streetlight outage.

March 16: An officer attended drug enforcement training. A cell phone was reported missing in the 200 block of South Lincoln Street. A reckless driver was reported at the sports complex. Emergency medical services personnel received assistance at the sports complex. An individual reported that someone had entered his room in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street and removed a game player and laptop computer. Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services received assistance with an investigation. A chicken was reported running at-large in the 200 block of North Main Street.

March 17: A commercial alarm was activated in the 800 block of East D Street. Officers attended safety training at city hall. A 911 disconnect was checked in the 300 block of North Birch Street. Two stolen bicycles were recovered in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street. An officer attended drug enforcement training.

Thursday: A protection from abuse order was issued in the 300 block of North Madison Street. An individual was arrested in the 900 block of East Grand Avenue on an outstanding warrant. SRS received assistance with an investigation. Residents reported a possibly threatening text on their daughter’s phone. Officers responded to a fire alarm at Tabor College. An officer attended drug enforcement training.

Friday: An individual reported that his daughter was raped while living with relatives in Hillsboro. The case remains under investigation. An officer attended drug enforcement training. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with a traffic accident. Assistance was provided to SRS with a welfare check in the 200 block of South Birch Street. Officers responded to numerous alarms, activated because of a power outage.

Saturday: A child custody dispute was reported in the 300 block of South Washington Street. Smoke was reported in a building in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A noise complaint was checked in the 400 block of South Birch Street.
